31 Aug MPM Earns Top Rankings in Chambers Latin America Guide 2027
Marini Pietrantoni Muñiz LLC (MPM) has once again earned top rankings in the Chambers & Partners Latin America Guide 2027, with recognition for its Dispute Resolution and Bankruptcy & Restructuring practices, along with individual rankings for several of the firm’s attorneys.
MPM’s Dispute Resolution team was ranked Band 1, continuing its recognition among the highest-ranked practices in Puerto Rico. Chambers commentary accompanying the 2027 rankings highlights the team’s technical and practical experience, responsiveness, understanding of commercial considerations, and commitment to client service.
The guide also recognizes three MPM attorneys in Dispute Resolution. Founder Manuel A. Pietrantoni received a Band 1 ranking, founder Mauricio O. Muñiz-Luciano was recognized in Band 3, and Karena Montes-Berríos received a Band 4 ranking. Chambers’ feedback highlights qualities ranging from strategic and practical counsel to communication and responsiveness in complex dispute resolution matters.
MPM also received the highest rankings for its Bankruptcy & Restructuring team in Dispute Resolution: Bankruptcy. The firm has the largest number of partners ranked and recognized for Bankruptcy in Puerto Rico in the 2027 guide.
Luis C. Marini was once again ranked Band 1 in Dispute Resolution: Bankruptcy. For the past 15 years, he has been the only lawyer in Puerto Rico ranked Band 1 in this category. Chambers commentary recognizes his longstanding experience in bankruptcy matters and the practical counsel he provides in addressing complex issues.
Carolina Velaz-Rivero received a Band 2 ranking in Dispute Resolution: Bankruptcy, with Chambers commentary recognizing her involvement and visibility in bankruptcy matters in Puerto Rico. Ignacio Labarca was recognized as Up and Coming, with the guide noting his growing expertise in bankruptcy matters.
