For over 20 years, Ian has focused his practice in representing clients on residential and commercial transactions involving real and personal property. His practice includes representing lenders, developers, and owners in connection with all aspects of transfers of property title, liquidations, and collateral transactions. Ian has vast experience with asset sales and dispositions, workouts, and restructuring transactions including foreclosures and discounted pay-off agreements, creation, cancellation and modifications of security interests, deeds in lieu, commercial financing, leases, and general corporate matters.
Ian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance from the University of Puerto Rico and obtained his Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2003. He initiated his corporate legal practice at a major law firm in Puerto Rico and in 2006, he partnered with several attorneys to create Garriga & Marini, a firm focused on transactional real estate practice providing notarial and real estate services to real estate developers, financial institutions, property managers, and title companies throughout Puerto Rico.
Ian is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia
and he is an active notary public in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
