MPM’s 2025 Summer Experience Comes to a Close

Following the welcome of our 2025 Summer Associate class earlier this summer, our participants continued to engage in a range of immersive, hands-on experiences that reflected the depth and breadth of MPM’s commitment to legal education and professional development.

As part of the program, our Summer Associates and interns visited Puerto Rico’s Capitol building and participated in specialized workshops with the Oficina de Servicios Legislativos (OSL). The visit included a guided tour of the Capitol, a session at the Legislative Library, a SUTRA legislative process workshop led by Jan Febo, Director of Legislative Procedures, and a legislative drafting workshop led by Ada Coll, Esq., Deputy Director of OSL. This experience offered practical insight into how laws and public policy are shaped and enacted in Puerto Rico.

The program also included a visit to the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, where our participants—alongside program coordinators Getzemarie Lugo and Idalmarie López—had the opportunity to interact with District Court Judges and Magistrates and gain firsthand knowledge of the federal judiciary system.

Midway through the program, MPM hosted a Mid-Summer Cocktail Event at Bar La Unidad in Santurce. This gathering allowed our Summer Associates to connect outside of the office and experience the culture and camaraderie that defines our firm.

On July 16, 2025, the Summer Program featured a Moot Court event, giving our associates a chance to sharpen their advocacy skills in a supportive courtroom setting. We thank the Honorable Giselle Romero García of the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals for presiding over the proceedings and providing invaluable feedback.

Our summer cohort also participated in a workshop titled “The Neuroscience of Health, Well-Being and Mindfulness Meditation,” led by Dr. Mauricio A. Conejo, Executive Director (ad honorem) of the Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience. Dr. Conejo shared research-based insights and guided a mindfulness exercise designed to enhance personal and professional well-being.

To conclude the program, MPM held an end-of-summer event to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of this year’s class. Throughout the summer, our associates participated in substantive legal work, engaged in professional development activities, and built lasting relationships across the firm.

We are grateful to all who contributed to making this program a success, particularly our attorneys and staff who offered mentorship, guidance, and support throughout our summer program.

To our Summer Associates: thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm. We wish you continued success as you return to law school and move forward in your careers.

Applications for the 2026 Summer Associates Program are now open. Interested students may submit their materials through September 15, 2025. For more information, visit our here.
